The hub of information for the Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program, our blog contains posts with announcements, news and events, articles, periodicals and additions or updates to our website.
This page contains published posts from the August 2016 archive sorted chronologically with the newest at the top.
We regularly host, sponsor and support a variety of events that provide community outreach, increase awareness of our program, help recruit new volunteers, raise funds and furnish training to our volunteer guardians ad litem.
It is vital that all of our volunteers learn the new Optima case management system. The following four sessions of Learning Optima were added to our calendar.
In addition, the following events were also added to the calendar.
You can also browse and access events on our calendar grid.
Volunteer Transportation Request eForm
A new eForm version of the Volunteer Transportation Request has been developed, tested and is now available for use by our volunteers.
First introduced in July 2015, our eForm platform provides a streamlined way to submit various forms and reports to program staff. Featuring dynamic fields and controls, eForm is easy to use on any device at home or out in the field.
The Volunteer Transportation Request is available for volunteers who wish to avail themselves of Florida Statute § 39.8296(2)(b)(7), which permits guardian ad litem volunteers to transport children represented by the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program.
The passage of this law in 2012 was a great step forward for the advocacy of children. We encourage all volunteers — who wish to do so — to apply to transport children by submitting the new request eForm and downloading the Transportation Guidelines
in the Standards and Guidelines section of the Form and Document Library.
