Update Roundup: New Events, Updated Forms and More

We hope that you enjoyed the holiday season and were able to spend time with your family. Now that we are all getting back to our daily routines, we have a number of recent and forthcoming website updates to announce. These additions and modifications are detailed below.

Happy New Year!

New Events

We regularly host, sponsor and support a variety of events that provide community outreach, increase awareness of our program, help recruit new volunteers, raise funds and furnish training to our volunteer guardians ad litem. The following events were added to our calendar.

Page Updates

Continuing Education
The Continuing Education page was updated to include new articles in the Complete Your Hours Now section as well as updated text in the Annual Requirements section.

For additional information about this fiscal year's continuing education requirement, you can download a letter being mailed to all volunteers.

The Training page was updated to provide further clarity about the three phase process. In addition, all upcoming pre-service training events are now displayed in the Phase 2: Classroom Learning section.

The Leadership page was updated to reflect Circuit Director Deborah Moore's nomination and selection as a finalist for the 2015 Women of Distinction Award, a program of the Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle. Congratulations, Deborah!

New Holiday Drive Photographs

Four additional photographs from the 2015 Guardian ad Litem Holiday Gift Drive were added to our event album on Flickr. Thank you to Omega Wynn for providing these pictures.

You can read more about the event's success in our A Happy Holiday For All: Celebrating Another Successful Guardian ad Litem Holiday Gift Drive blog post.

Coming Soon

Finally, we are pleased to announce that work is underway to launch a new online volunteer application. We hope that by digitizing most of the form, it will be quicker and easier for prospective volunteers to begin the application process.

When the new Volunteer Application eForm is launched, we will also publish revisions to the Prospective Volunteers page to clarify the application process timeline. New supplemental downloads will also be added since not all of the application process may be done online.

Complete details will be published here once these new features are finished. We hope to have them ready by the end of the month, so stay tuned.
