The Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program is hosting a training of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem and staff.
Join us on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at our offices on Thomasville Road for Psychotropic Medication and Our Foster Children and Youth.
Presented by Supervising Child's Best Interest Attorney Lorraine Donovan-Lepanto with the Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program, this training session will explore the issue of psychotropic medication by…
identifying advocacy strategies by demonstrating an understanding of the effects, both positively and negatively, that psychotropic medications can have on our foster youth;
sharing an example of how the protective laws, rule and regulations in place will assist with making recommendations to the court with regard to any medication issues;
discussing how our older youth have an important role in their medication protocol and should be included in reaching the best options for them; and
explaining the options for older youth as they age out of foster care for their continued medication needs.
Participants may receive two (2) hours of continuing education credit. Afterward, report your hours quickly and easily using our eForm.
The training is free. You can download a print flyer, register to attend and submit questions to the event contact below.
