Day of Action: Friday, March 11, 2016
The Salvation Army is hosting a training and outreach event of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem, staff and the public.
Join them on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Training. This training is a prerequisite for the Day of Action on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Florida has the third highest rate of human trafficking in the nation, with every single county in our state experiencing documented cases. It was discovered that staff of the hotel industry can be a strong, highly effective first line of defense for recognition and reporting of this horrific crime.
Therefore, sixty volunteers are needed to visit local hotels and provide human trafficking awareness and prevention materials during this year's Day of Action. The training will provide tools needed to effectively volunteer during the Day of Action such as details about human trafficking; tips on how to approach the topic with the local hotel industry; and an overview of the educational materials prepared for the hotels.
Training participants may receive three (3) hours of continuing education credit. Afterward, report your hours quickly and easily using our eForm.
The training is free. You can download the event flyer and register with the event contact below.
