IEP Academy Section 504 Plan

Wednesday, October 22, 2014 and
Thursday, October 23, 2014

Parents of the Panhandle Information Network (POPIN) and the Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program are hosting a training of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem and staff.

Join us on Wednesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 24, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at our offices on Thomasville Road for IEP Academy Section 504 Plan, part of our Exceptional Student Education Institute.

The individualized education program (IEP) is a critical document and a major part of a child's education. The IEP can determine what the child is taught, how the child is taught, who teaches the content and where the child's education is provided. This training provides an in-depth look at the IEP document, how it is written and what it all means to a child's learning experience.

Every educator and parent of a child enrolled in the public school system should understand the purpose, procedures and requirements of a Section 504 plan. This training will review the referral, evaluation, eligibility and accommodation processes, as well as how to develop and implement a Section 504 plan.

The training will be presented by Kathy Powell, Program Director of the Parents of the Panhandle Information Network, a program of the Family Network on Disabilities.

Participants may receive four (4) hours of continuing education credit. Afterward, report your hours quickly and easily using our eForm.

The training is free. You can download the event flyer and register with the event contact below.

We hope to see you there!
