The Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program is hosting a training of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem.
Join us on Monday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at our offices for Transition Academy: The Road to Successful Transition and Self Determination.
Presented by Kathy Powell, Parent Resource Specialist for the Family Network on Disabilities, this two-part training will explain and help you write a transition individual education plan.
With a range of services available, it is important to identify those which will help your child make a successful transition from high school to college, employment and beyond.
When a child turns fourteen, the individual education plan team works with the guardian ad litem to identify the services and develop a transition individual education plan, which helps prepare the youth for a successful segue from high school to adulthood.
Participants may receive three (3) hours of continuing education credit. Afterward, report your hours quickly and easily using our eForm.
The training is free. You can download the event flyer and register with the event contact below.
We hope to see you there!
