The Florida Quality Parenting Initiative, Florida's Center for Child Welfare and the Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program are hosting a live webcast of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem and staff.
Join us on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at our offices on Thomasville Road for Stages of Child Development: Implications for Child Welfare Practices Including Visitation with Birth Families and Transitions.
Dr. Charles H. Zeanah, Jr., MD — whose major academic interest has been in the area of infant mental health, especially in understanding infants' development in the context of the infant-parent relationships — will present the webcast.
Dr. Zeanah conducts research on the effects of abuse, neglect, serious deprivation and exposure to violence on young children and on interventions designed to help them recover. He has also studied approaches to understanding psychopathology in young children, in particular, disorders of attachment posttraumatic stress disorder, as well as interventions for young children who have experienced maltreatment.
