Fundraiser Results
On Wednesday, January 20, 2016, Moe's Southwest Grill hosted a special fundraiser in support of Child Advocates II, Inc. (CAII) and the Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program.
During the Moe's Southwest Grill Grand Opening Fundraiser at their new Walker Plaza location at 3020 West Pensacola Street, visitors purchased an entrée, side and drink for $5.00 with one-hundred percent of proceeds donated to CAII.
The event was very successful with a total of $1,001.85 donated!
Thank you to Rob Atkisson and Moe's Tallahassee for their continued support of our program.
A Volunteer In Print
While browsing the Friday, January 29, 2016 edition of the Tallahassee Democrat, this author came across an article featuring one of our volunteers. Those familiar with our program all certainly know or have heard of Dorothy "Dot" Binger, an award-winning volunteer with a heart of gold.
In the article "Archived photos tell the story of Tallahassee Community College" by Byron Dobson, Binger's history with TCC is discussed. She was "the third employee hired by the college in 1966" and went on to work there for twenty-five years.
The article also features a photograph of Binger with her daughter Norma Parrish and information about the college's fiftieth anniversary celebration.
