Engaging Hispanic Families: Overcoming Challenges to Enrich Lives

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

The Early Childhood Investigations Webinars is hosting a continuing education webinar of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem and staff.

Join them on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM for Engaging Hispanic Families: Overcoming Challenges to Enrich Lives.

Offering responsive programs to all children and their families can be challenging but very rewarding. If your program is especially culturally and economically diverse, understanding and respecting the various cultural differences is critical to meeting the need of the families.

This session will focus on the specific needs of Hispanic children programs serving low income families and the strategies your program needs to employ to engage their families. The presentation will cover the research and public policy issues framing the challenges of low-income Hispanic families in the United States; implications for best practice in early education settings; and practical cultural and linguistic strategies for engaging families.

The webinar will be presented by Yvette Sanchez Fuentes, President of the National Alliance for Hispanic Families.

Participants may receive one-and-a-half (1.5) hours of continuing education credit. Afterward, report your hours quickly and easily using our eForm.

The training is free. You can register online to participate.
