Working with Latino Dads

The Office of Family Assistance and National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse are hosting a continuing education webinar of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem and staff.

Join them on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM for Working with Latino Dads.

The presentation will explore strategies that have proven successful in work with fathers from Latino backgrounds. Participants will improve their knowledge and understanding of ways in which working with Latino fathers may differ from work with other dads; strategies for connecting with Latino fathers; general tips for programs that work with Latino fathers including hiring and training culturally competent staff; providing effective services; and creating an environment of mutual learning and respect.

The webinar will be presented by Jerry Tello with the National Compadres Network of Los Angeles, California; Jose Muñoz with Compadre Y Compadre at The Children's Shelter of San Antonio, Texas; and Alicia La Hoz with Family Bridges of Chicago, Illinois. It will be facilitated by Patrick Patterson with the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse.
