Parents of the Panhandle Information Network (POPIN), a program of the Family Network on Disabilities, is hosting a continuing education forum of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem, staff, parents and teachers.
Join them on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM for the POPIN Academic Summit.
Presenters will focus on topics relating to family engagement and understanding a child's learning style for reading, while participants will learn hands-on strategies parents can implement at home and teachers can implement in the classroom.
This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Betsy Stoutmorrill, Reading and Language Arts Instructor for Florida State College at Jacksonville's Pathways to High School Equivalency Program. Dr. Stoutmorrill earned her PhD from Walden University in 2009 and has worked in the field of adult education, reading and learning disabilities since 1995.
The POPIN Academic Summit is being put on in partnership with The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System, Florida Inclusion Network and the Florida and Virgin Islands Deaf-Blind Collaborative.
