Parents of the Panhandle Information Network (POPIN) and the Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program are hosting a training of interest to volunteer guardians ad litem and staff.

Join us on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at our offices on Thomasville Road for Individual Family Support Plan to Individual Education Program, part of our Exceptional Student Education Institute.

This training is for those working with children who are turning three-years-old and will be entering school. Like the Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP) developed in Early Steps, the school system along with parents develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Parent-teacher conferences provide the perfect opportunity to build and strengthen the relationship between parents and teachers. Communication is an essential component to a child's academic success. This training provides a great framework for effective parent-teacher conferences and meetings. We will discuss several strategies for building lasting, collaborative relationships between parents, teachers and faculty.

The training will be presented by Kathy Powell, Program Director of the Parents of the Panhandle Information Network, a program of the Family Network on Disabilities.

Participants may receive two (2) hours of continuing education credit. Afterward, report your hours quickly and easily using our eForm.

The training is free. You can download the event flyer and register with the event contact below.

We hope to see you there!
