The FSU Chapter of Progressive Black Men and Florida Youth SHINE (FYS) are hosting a fundraiser of interest to our volunteers, supporters and staff.
Join them on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM for Run to Give — a 5K for local foster youth. In addition to the run, there will be food, field day activities for kids, a live DJ and more.
Proceeds from this event will support the Tallahassee Chapter of Florida Youth SHINE, a youth run, peer driven advocacy organization working to improve Florida's child welfare system.
Florida Youth SHINE represents the interests of all children who have been abused, neglected and removed from their families. Much like how guardians ad litem provide a voice to children in court, Florida Youth SHINE provides a needed voice to foster youth, often lost in the system.
The Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program is pleased to share this event on behalf of our volunteer guardian ad litem and mentor John Fair, who is also involved with the excellent Florida Youth SHINE organization.
You can download the event flyer and learn more or register to participate at Eventbrite.
