Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System (FDLRS), a statewide network of associate and specialized centers that provide support services to exceptional student education programs, is conducting educational surrogate training for guardians ad litem.
Educational surrogates act as advocates for a child who requires exceptional student education (ESE) services. Responsibilities include making informed decisions about the child's educational needs, attending meetings and monitoring the child's progress.
Successful completion of the training and certification as an educational surrogate will qualify guardians ad litem to provide additional advocacy to children receiving ESE services and who have individualized education programs (IEP) at school.
Participants will be awarded two (2) hours of continuing education credit. Remember, you can report your hours online quickly and easily.
You can download the FDLRS flyer for additional details about the course. The same course will be taught on both days, so select the one that better fits your schedule.
Please RSVP by Monday, October 8, 2012. We hope to see you there!
