The Training Refresher Course continuing education series, sponsored by the Volunteer Advisory Committee, provides an opportunity for current volunteer guardians ad litem to review and refresh their knowledge and skills.

Participants will be awarded two and a half (2.5) hours of in-service continuing education credit. Remember, you can report your hours online quickly and easily.

Each session focuses on a specific topic, so volunteers are welcome to attend one or all of them. This session's topic is Conversations with Children and Families, covering basic communication skills with children, cultural competence and child development considerations.

It will be presented by Second Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program staff member Kimberly Nester, Volunteer Supervisor II, and volunteer Frank Platt, LCSW, Guardian ad Litem.

Training Refresher Course sessions are held on the first Thursday of every other month and refreshments are provided.

Please RSVP by April 2, 2012. We hope to see you there!
